One way to think of what we do here is this: the church exists in three dimensions.  The first is "Big Church", when we gather to worship on Sundays.  This is the prime venue for "reconnect with God" in its public dimension.

This is where a lot of the "three times a week" 1311 engagements happen: gathered worship, service and often study.

LIttle church

Weekly small group participation is where we "realign with God."  Jesus led the first small group (the apostles) and the pattern is designed to continue.  Then He told us to do the same:

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:18-20)

Paul said as much in 2 Timothy 2:2:  "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

"Little church" is an essential ingredient of life for faithful Jesus followers.

The third is "be the church": be God's love and power and reconciliation in your  This is where we share the gospel of Jesus, where we "revitalize the world."
